Observation of International Arabic Language Day was held on 18 December 2017 in the Seminar hall of University College, Thiruvananthapuram. Prof. V. Karthikeyan Nair (Director, Kerala Bhasha Institute) inaugurated the programme and released the Vol. 9 of Majalla al-Aasima, annual research journal, published by the department, by giving a copy to Dr. Abdullah Kavil (UGC Emiretus Fellow, Darul Uloom Arabic College, Vazhakkadu. Prof. G. Santhosh Kumar (Principal, University College) released the Arabic day bulletin and Dr. M. Sainudeen (former Head of the Department) honours the students with outstanding performance.
