The Department of Arabic, University College, Thiruvananthapuram celebrates its Platinum Jubilee with an year long programmes in 2017. The proposed programmes are officially inaugurated on 01 March 2017 by  Dr. A. Sampath M.P., Hon'ble Member of Parliament. The Department organized a platinum jubilee National Seminar on Kerala and Arabic Language: Science, Culture, Education and Literature to popularize the legacy of Arabic language in the State of Kerala, on 01-03 March 2017. 26 papers were presented in the 5 academic sessions of the three day seminar.
