CALL FOR PAPERS
Dear Sir/Madam,
The Department of Arabic, University College, Thiruvananthapuram (Established in 1942) proposes to organise a Two Day National Seminar on Contemporary Arabic Novel: Issues & Experiences, on 28-29 November 2018, which will be sponsored by Directorate of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Kerala.
The focal areas of the Seminar as follows:
· Arabic novel after Najib Mahfouz
· The other in Contemporary Arabic novels
· The West as depicted in the Arabic novels
· Clashes of civilizations in the Arabic novels
· Gender and Environmental Issues
· Issue of colloquial language
· Arab Identity crisis in the novels
· Palestine issue in Arabic novels
· The gulf experiences in Arabic novels
· Maghreb novels
· Experimental narrative techniques in Contemporary Arabic novels
· Arab nationalism and Arabic novels
· Arabic novel and the traditional taboos of politics, religion and sex
· Arabic novel after Arab spring revolutions
· Post colonialism in Arabic novels
· Influence of western literature in Arabic novels
· Novel in various Arab countries
· Novel and critical schools
· الرواية .... ديوان العرب في العصر الحديث ؟
Researchers and academicians who are interested to present papers related to the focal areas are requested to send the abstract of their papers in one page by email on or before 31st October 2018. Papers are to be precise and conforming to the thrust area noted. All submissions must be original and proper acknowledgement of sources borrowed should be made. Selected papers should be presented in the seminar using PowerPoint facility.
