CALL FOR PAPERS
Dear Sir/Madam,
The Department of Arabic, University College, Thiruvananthapuram (Established in 1942) is the first higher education centre in the State of Kerala for teaching Arabic language and literature in government sector. The Department propose to organise a National Seminar on Women’s Literature in Contemporary Arabic on 27-28 November 2019.
The focal areas of the seminar as follows:
- Feminist theory in Modern Arabic Literature
- Women Narratives in Modern Arabic
- Portrayal of Arab Women in the Contemporary Arabic Women’s literature
- Representation of Identity Politics in Women’s literature
- Patriarchy, Sexuality & Gender Issues in Women’s Literature
- War, Trauma & Diaspora in Arabic Women’s literature
- Women in Arabic Post Colonial literature
- Gynocriticism in Arabic
- Islamic Women’s Literature in Arabic
- Gulf, Maghreb & Levant Experiences in Women Literature
- Role of Women writers in Arab Fiction
- Post World War II Women Poetic Voices
- Women Experiments in Arab Theatre
- Women Writers in Arabic Exile Literature
- Contemporary Arab Women Writers
Researchers and academicians who are interested to present papers related to the focal areas are requested to send the abstract of their papers in one page by email on or before 20th October 2019. Papers are to be precise and conforming to the thrust area noted. All submissions must be original and proper acknowledgement of sources borrowed should be made. Selected papers shall be presented in the seminar using PowerPoint facility.
